Students in Ms. Bomback's class visited the Burton Public Library to begin their research.
Shortly before the Labor Day holiday weekend, students in the Women’s Studies class taught by Ms. Bomback’s went on a field trip to the Burton Public Library. Students were assigned to find a book about a woman which they will research, and then deliver a presentation to the rest of the class. The goal is for all students to learn about women’s contributions to society, and then relate these women’s experiences to the concepts they are learning about in class. Some of the people chosen include Queen Elizabeth II, Malala Yousafzai, and Marilyn Monroe, to name a few. Students will present their research to the class at the end of the first quarter. Students stopped on their way to the library for a little lunch in the park, and a pleasant afternoon was had by all!
