Senior Shadow Project Information

Senior Shadow Project Information: The Berkshire High School Senior Shadow Project is designed to provide interested seniors with the opportunity to work on a meaningful, independent project within an area of career-related interest. Seniors can complete this graduation requirement by selecting one of two options: (1) the Senior Job Shadow Experience OR (2) The Senior Shadow Alternative Project.  Students complete the Senior Job Experience off campus from May 10-14, 2027 while the Senior Shadow Alternative Project is completed at school from May 10 - 20, 2027.  Click here to see more information about the Class of 2026 Senior Shadow Project OR the Class of 2026 Senior Shadow Alternative Project. Note: These documents for the Class of 2027 will be updated in early 2027.

Attendance Requirement: Senior year is an important milestone, and consistent attendance plays a key role in academic success, graduation readiness, and preparation for life after high school. Students who attend school regularly are more likely to stay engaged, build strong relationships, and take full advantage of the opportunities available to them.

To be eligible to participate in the Senior Job Shadow Experience, students must maintain satisfactory attendance throughout their senior year. In accordance with Ohio's definition of chronic absenteeism, students who are chronically absent—defined as missing 10% or more of the school year for any reason (excused or unexcused)—will not be eligible to participate in the Senior Job Shadow Experience. Any exception must be approved by building administration. Students who are identified as chronically absent will instead complete the Senior Shadow Alternative Project. Parents/Guardians and students will receive quarterly updates via email regarding whether their student has been identified as chronically absent. For the purposes of the Senior Shadow Project eligibility, final determination as to whether a student is identified as chronically absent will take place on Friday, April 24, 2027.

Our goal is to encourage strong attendance habits that support student success both in high school and beyond.
